Level switch
The pneumatic level switches type NV-102 and NV-200 are very reliable sensors for scanning
of fluid levels. The switches are used as overfill protection for transport containers.
The application field of type NV-102 is for open and non-pressurised tanks, type NV-200 is
applied in containers with vapour return. The liquids can be aggressive or highly polluted.
The electric control of for instance switch contactors, optic and acoustic sensors in Ex-areas is done with a switch amplifier.
The robust level switches are laid out for heavy-duty applications and are supplied in stainless steel. Switching is effected through the air pressure produced by the rising fluid level in the pitot tube.
The operational safety of the switch on use as a min /max switch is given when the containers are regularly emptied or partly emptied, so that air resp. vapour in the pitot tube can revolve. If this is not given, the problem can be avoided by use of permanent vapour bubbling. Moreover, this method reliably avoids a growing over of the pitot tube in case of extremely sticky products, such as bitumen.
